A sweet, contemporary ring, with mystical sensibilities, modeled in 14k rose gold, by the designer Sofia Zakia. Thisring's primary gem is a high-dome, rose cut, indicolite tourmaline— it is held in a smooth bezel, with six ,decorative, claw-like prongs, where it is flanked by a pair of outward-facing crescent moons. Above and below this deep-blue-green gem,a pair ofround, brilliant cut, white diamonds sit between gold beads of granulation. Trios of diamonds also decorate the ring’s shoulders, getting gradually smaller as they get fartheraway from the inner curves of the crescentmoons. The ring's weighty shank is squared and decorated with a series of diagonal notches; it tapers somewhat, toward the base. This is an early iteration of Sofia Zakia's “wandering star” ring— it remains visually delicate, but it is a heavier build than the current version, and its gems are set in substantial, modified bezels, rather than prongs.
This ring is beautifully made— we love its celestial design elements and themystical quality it projects. It would make a wonderful alternative engagement ring! Marked 14k for purity, andwith the maker's glyph.
